AMA Boss picks forms to contest Ablekuma South seat

Chief Executive of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), Alfred Oko Vanderpuije has picked nomination forms to contest the Ablekuma South parliamentary seat ahead of the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) primaries.

Mr Vanderpuije, who has been the mayor of Accra for the past six years told Accra-based television station, TV3,that he was the right candidate for the position.

"I have monitored activities around the constituency for several years and I know what they need and I'm the right man to bring such leadership to the area," he said.

The incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Fritz Barfuor, has decided not to seek re-election.

The National Democratic Congress has set November 7, 2015 to hold its presidential and parliamentary primaries ahead of the 2016 elections.
