Mahama: I'll build new power sub-stations along Eastern Corridor to improve power supply

The flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama says he will install new electricity substations along the eastern corridor of Ghana to help address low voltage issues affecting communities such as Atebubu, Yeji, Bimbilla, and Yendi.

Mr Mahama explained that the low voltage problem in those areas stems from the concentration of substations in the central part of the country, leaving the eastern part under served.

"There are no substations on the eastern side, and this is something we have taken note of," Mr Mahama said while addressing NDC supporters in Atebubu during his tour of the Bono East region.

He assured that under an NDC government, substations would be constructed along the eastern corridor to boost voltage levels and stabilise electricity supply.

"When the NDC returns to power, we will establish substations in the eastern corridor to enhance your voltage and ensure more stable electricity," Mr Mahama promised.

The former president has so far toured several constituencies in the Bono East area, including Sene West, Sene East, and Atebubu Amantin.
