The former Black Stars assistant coach has offered to supervise Liberty Professionals’ pre-season preparations as a director of the club after a stint with the Sierra Leone U-20 side.

Borbor was compelled to fill the void created by George Lamptey who turned down a re-engagement offer by the management of the club following the dissolution of the club’s technical team at the end of the last Premier League.

“I decided to help with the pre-season since the club has no head coach at the moment. You know I’m also a director of Liberty and, therefore, I have to help,” he explained in an interview with the Graphic Sports yesterday.

However, Tetteh, would not commit to a long-term deal with the Dansoman-based club as he still hopes for a return to Sierra Leone to build upon the foundation he laid during his one-year stint with the Leone Stars.

Borbor handled the Leone Stars in a caretaker capacity and nearly qualified them to their first AFCON qualification in many years after finishing just a point behind the defending African champions, Cote d’Ivoire, whom they held to a 1-1 draw in Bouake.

“The people really want me back because of the work I did. They are not playing any league there I had to do a lot of groundwork to build a team for the qualifiers.

‘Now both the ministry and the government have joined the FA to let me stay because they are impressed with my work,” he revealed.

But the man who led the Black Satellites to win Africa’s first gold at the FIFA U-20 World Cup at Egypt 2009 said he would only consider an extended contract after being paid his two months salary arrears.

‘For now it’s 50-50 because I’m waiting for my two months salary arrears before I can consider their offer.”

Aside the Sierra Leone deal, he also hinted of offers from clubs in South Africa and Tanzania which were being considered.

Borbor graduated from an assistant coach to handle the Black Stars briefly in 2008 before being contracted to supervise the Rwandan national team from 2010-2011 following his historic feat with the Satellites in Egypt.
