The home side laboured until Frederick Boateng came off the substitutes bench to score the opening goal in the 60th minute when he connected home a cross by Ropapa Mensah.

However, the home side’s celebration was shortlived as the Obuasi side cancelled the lead three minutes later through Mohammed Dauda, who converted a spot kick moments after he was pulled to the ground by an Inter Allies defender to earn a deserved penalty kick.

Playing their first official game under new coach Jimmy Corbblah, who replaced Herbert Addo, Inter Allies announced their presence and intent by piling pressure on Ashgold early in the game.
