We’ll overtake Hearts on Sunday — Adams

Aduana Stars’ number one goalie, Stephen Adams, has sent a strong message to Accra Hearts of Oak ahead of their visit to the Nana Agyeman Badu Park at Dormaa-Ahenkro on Sunday that they will topple them from the top of the league table after Sunday.

Adams attributed Aduana’s current impressive form to luck and hard work. He said even though their former coach, Nuru Ahmed, and current coach, Cioaba Aristica, are both good, he believed the team had picked up quickly because of the chemistry between them and Coach Aristica.

“Both coach Nuhu and Aristica are good coaches but currently, we have the luck and also because we have worked with Coach Cioaba Aristica before, we easily adapt to whatever tactics he teaches us,” goalkeeper Adams told the Daily Graphic in an interview on Thursday.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Dormaa-Ahenkro-based club, Albert Commey, also credited the club’s current winning form, which has propelled it to the second position of the Ghana Premier League log to the hard work of Coach Aristica and the entire technical team. He gave an assurance that there will be no compromise against Accra Hearts of Oak on Sunday.

“Come Sunday, we are going all out for the three points. We respect Hearts of Oak but there will be no compromise”.

Aduana Stars started the season badly, losing their first three matches on the trot against Inter Allies, Wa All Stars and Techiman City under former coach Nuru Ahmed. But the team found their form immediately the Romanian took over, accounting for Hasaacas, Medeama, Liberty, Dreams FC and lately New Edubiase during their week 12 league match last Wednesday at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.

Mr Commey attributed the current change in circumstance to hard work which had kept the playing body as a unit, as well as the improved quality of their play.

He said Coach Aristica and his team knew what was at stake and, therefore, always strived hard for results.
