France opened scoring in the 30th minute through striker Delphine Cascarino at the PNG Football Stadium.

Ghana after pressing for the equaliser finally got it in the 43rd minute through midfielder Sandra Owusu Ansah.

The Princesses started the second half the better team and showed an intent of getting the win.

In the 65th minute, striker Jane Ayieyam capitalised on a defensive blunder to put Ghana ahead.

Ghana had a chance to finish the game in the 81st minute when a penalty was awarded after Princella Adubea was fouled. Samira Abdul Rahman stepped up but she shockingly fluffed her lines from the spot kick.

Just when Ghana appeared to be cruising to victory, France equalised with a fine header from Clara Mateo in the 94th minute.

The result means Ghana must record a win in their last group game against USA and hope results in the game involving France and New Zealand will go in their favour.
