He praised the former Unilever CSO’s pivotal role in the establishment of the "Half House" on the golf course—a facility where golfers can pause, refresh, and recharge before continuing their game.

As a gesture of appreciation for his remarkable service, Mr Yamson is now permanently exempt from paying any membership dues or fees at the club. “From this day forward, he can walk in at any time to play golf without any charges and is excused from paying any dues,” Mr Adu announced.

In his acceptance speech, Mr Yamson expressed heartfelt gratitude to the club for acknowledging his efforts. He urged all members to remain loyal to the Achimota Golf Club, encouraging them to honour their commitments and support the club’s growth and continued success.

The tournament itself featured fierce competition, with Frederick Semenu Devour emerging as the men’s champion, while Vastie Amoafo Yeboah claimed the title in the women’s category. Both winners showcased exceptional skill and sportsmanship, heightening the excitement of the inaugural MTN tournament.

The event not only celebrated the exceptional performances on the course but also reinforced the strong ties between MTN and the Achimota Golf Club, signalling the start of a promising partnership.
