Hockey Assoc. needs GH¢100,000 to host World League Round One
With less than three weeks to stage the World Hockey League Round One at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium in Accra, the Ghana Hockey (GHA) is still struggling to raise GH¢100,000 to enable it to host the tournament successfully.

Besides failing to secure the needed funds to camp the male and female national hockey players to host and win the competition, the GHA is also yet to receive support from corporate Ghana for air tickets for officials, accommodation, and feeding, among other things.
Other countries expected to feature in the competition are Nigeria, Namibia and Kenya.
The three-day tournament, which comes off on September 9, will pit Ghana’s female hockey team against Namibia’s at 3:15 p.m. with their male compatriots taking their turn against their Ghanaian counterparts the same day at 7:45 p.m.
The day will, however, begin with a clash between the women team of Kenya facing Nigeria, with the men’s team of the two nations taking their turn at 5:30 p.m.
Winners will qualify for the second round of the World League in February next year.
