Journalists urged to be innovative
A former Black Stars player, Tony Baffoe, has called on sports journalists to develop innovative mechanisms to make them more professional in their quest to make the First Capital Plus League more attractive and interesting.
To this end, he urged media practitioners to always pay attention to details in their deliberations.

Speaking on the topics “Media activities on match days” at a Ghana Football Association (GFA) organised training programme for venue and club media officers, Mr Baffoe, who is also a FIFA General Coordinator, said by so doing both the media and all other stakeholders would be working to improve the organisation of football in the country.
“As media people we all have to contribute to make the local game interesting but it must begin with professionalism on your part,” he emphasised and advised clubs to adhere to changes in the organisation of the game such as the writing of names of players on jerseys.
That, according to Mr Baffoe, is all aimed at helping to get the clubs to act more professionally.
The Chairman of the Media Committee of the GFA, Mr Kudjoe Fianoo, for his part acknowledged the significant role the media played in the development of football and sports in general but charged sports journalists to identify their strengths and use them to push the game.
On commentary, Mr Fianoo, a trained journalist himself, was visibly not happy with the kind of gadgets used in running commentary by some commentators and urged them to move away from the use of mobile phones for commentary and look for more sophisticated gadgets to enhance their work.
In a brief remark, the president of the GFA, Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi, urged sports journalists to be factual in their reports and abide by the highest ethical standards of the profession.
