Medeama, Wa All Stars in tricky match

Medeama, Wa All Stars in tricky match

Monday’s super clash between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak may have captured most of the attention but tomorrow’s clash between Premier League leaders, Wa All Stars and FA Cup holders, Medeama SC at the T&A Park  at Tarkwa promises to be full of fireworks.

For Wa All Stars, it is turning out to be a memorable season, having started on a flying note, with a 3-1 thrashing of Hearts in Accra to jump to the top of the league log. But that position faces a tough test against a Medeama side whose participation in the CAF Confederation Cup appears to be weighing heavily on their domestic performance.

Tom Strand’s side have lost just once at home but won their last three home games and go into tomorrow’s match determined to continue their climb with another home victory. On the other hand, the Wa lads will be mindful that any slip could cost them the top position as their closest challengers, Hearts, will be monitoring the Tarkwa game closely.

Wa All Stars coach, Enoch Adipah, will rely on his trusted charges such as Emmanuel Ocran, Mohammed Amando, Richard Arthur, Kofi Yeboah, Maxwell Baako, Walidu Mumuni, Adams Hafiz, Joseph Adjei and Nicholas Mensah to face a strong Medeama side built around Malik Akowuah,  Akwasi Donsu, Kwame Boahene, Abass Mohammed, Moses Sarpong and Samuel Adade.

Elsewhere, New Edubiase United, still basking in their stunning 1-0 win over Kotoko in Kumasi, wil look to add Berekum Chelsea to their victims when the two sides clash at the  Len Clay Stadium at Obuasi.

At the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast, the woes of defending champions Ashantigold, who have not won outside Obuasi this season, could be deepened further by bottom club, Ebusua Dwarfs, who are seeking their third straight home win, in a desperate attempt to climb out of the relegation zone.

At the Nana Gyeabour Park, Bechem United hope to unsettle stubborn WAFA who have not won away this season, while Techiman FC will be a hard nut for struggling Inter Allies to crack when they clash at the Tema Sports Stadium.

Aduana Stars will be at the receiving end of the home might of Liberty Professionals who have won all four matches at the Carl Reindorf Park at Dansoman, with Dreams FC hoping to bounce back when they host Sekondi Hasaacas at the Dawu Park.
