He complained about growing hooliganism at the stadia and said the situation was getting out of hand because the culprits were often allowed to go while the clubs were punished.

"Until we identify the pepertrators and punish them to serve as deterrent, the issue of crowd violence will not stop," Nana Fitz argued in an interview with the Graphic Sports last Friday.

In his view, it was only when the police considered violence at the various stadia as criminal offence and began to prosecute the culprits, that hooligansm would be discouraged

"They must show the fans that they can act when lawlessness takes centre stage and there was the need to bring sanity," the tough talking football critic stated.

Touching on security at the stadia, Nana Fitz also charged the IGP to as a matter of urgency; abolish the fees collected from the clubs before providing security, considering the difficult financial situation of the clubs.
