Nanevie donates ping-pong equipment to GTTF

Ghana's table tennis icon, Courage Nanevie, has presented a quantity of tennis equipment to the Ghana Table Tennis Federation (GTTF).

The items, worth thousands of cedis, include a robot machine, a set of 100 balls for multi balls training, four packs of three-star zhuxafa balls, two cans of water based glue, a modern random balls picker, a multi ball pan and a dozen of batteries to operate the robot machine.

Nanevie, who recently returned home after a four month training tour of the USA, also shared about 80 fairly-used table tennis rubbers to his local colleagues.

Explaining the rationale behind the gesture, Nanevie said the country had the potential of raising world-class players, but lack of equipment was hampering that effort.

As a result, he decided to contribute his quota to ensure the game was lifted to an appreciable level so Ghanaians could compete with players from any part of the world.

He was hopeful that his little contribution would encourage the young ones to work hard and achieve something for themselves in the sport.

Receiving the items on behalf of the association, the President of GTTA, Mawuko Afadzinu, was grateful to Nanevie for not only looking at his personal interest but deciding to give back to the federation.

He said the GTTF was striving hard to improve the game to an international standard but that effort would come to nothing if they get support.

He, therefore, called on other philanthropists to come to their aid.
