SWAG congratulates new SIC Insurance boss

The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has congratulated Mr Kwei Mensah Ashidam on his appointment as the substantive Managing Director of SIC Insurance Company Limited after serving in an acting capacity for a year.

In a congratulatory letter to Mr Ashidam and copied to the press, SWAG President Kwabena Yeboah said the association was particularly delighted that Mr Ashidam’s good work and wealth of experience did not go unnoticed and his confirmation came as little surprise to the leadership of SWAG which had enjoyed a tremendous working relationship with the SIC Insurance boss.

The SWAG president noted with pride the immense role played by Mr Ashidam in particular to ensure the revival last year of the annual SIC Nyemitei SWAG Cup match after a five-year break with the insurance giants investing GH¢80,000 to ensure a successful match in Kumasi last October.

“SWAG and SIC Insurance have enjoyed an outstanding relationship for almost four decades since the days of the venerable Henry Plange Nyemitei, onetime Deputy MD of SIC Insurance and also a former Chief Patron of SWAG. 

“We look forward to more exciting years for our two organisations during your tenure. We look forward also to working with you closely for another successful SIC Nyemitei SWAG Cup later this year,” said Mr Yeboah.

The SWAG President said he was optimistic that Mr Ashidam would bring his deep insights and rich experience in the insurance industry to bear on his tenure at the company to make SIC Insurance maintain its reputation as the insurance company of choice.
