Techiman City granted stay of execution

The GFA Disciplinary Committee has granted Techiman City a stay of execution pending the determination of the club’s appeal of the Ethics Committee’s decision to demote them for their involvement in a bribery and match-fixing scandal in a First Bank Division One League match with Wa African United.

Last Monday Techiman City was demoted to division two and its chief executive, Mr Charles Kwadwo Ntim aka. Micky Charles, banned from all football activities for six months.

In granting the club a stay of execution, the three-member panel of the Disciplinary Committee, chaired by Prosper Harrison Addo, noted that it had demonstrated will it would suffer irreparable damage if last Monday’s ruling was carried out fully without allowing the appeal process to take place.

Thus Techiman City will be allowed by the Division One League Board to compete in the rest of Zone One matches until the determination of its appeal filed on September 15, 2015.
