Sadiq, a former Ghana youth international, has been a standout performer for AZ, earning his sixth consecutive start of the season.

He wasted no time making an impact, scoring just six minutes into the match. Ruben van Bommel set him up with a pinpoint pass, and Sadiq expertly fired a left-footed shot into the top left corner from inside the box to give AZ an early lead.

The 23-year-old doubled AZ’s advantage shortly after half-time, finding the net with an impressive lob from outside the penalty area, bringing his tally for the season to four goals in six games. PEC Zwolle managed to pull one back through Dylan Vente, but AZ held on for the win.

Sadiq’s brace takes his season total to seven goal contributions, with four goals and three assists, cementing his key role in AZ Alkmaar’s strong start to the campaign.
