Support is key for success

Many have tried lobbying their way into the new government with some offering names of people they believe are most qualified to fill certain positions.

One sector that has been watched with keen interest has been the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts.
In the last two weeks, many Ghanaians have offered varying opinions about who they want the President to appoint to the position of Deputy Minister for the ministry.
While some are of the opinion that the ministry and the entertainment sector will benefit from having an industry person among the hierarchy of the ministry, others hold different views.
Advocates of both camps have vocally made their point in the media and we are certain that this has been well noted by the new government.
We of Showbiz are impressed by the active interest the people in the entertainment sector are taking in who will eventually fill the position.
This is an indication that the entertainment sector has come of age and a clear sign that they will no longer be passive observers in the administration of the sector.

Irrespective of who is chosen for the position, Showbiz calls on the industry not to relent in its efforts to make sure the entertainment sector receives the needed attention and support it deserves.
All said and done, whoever is chosen, whether from within or outside the entertainment industry, will need the support and input from everyone in order to succeed.
We urge everyone to channel the same energy they are using to lobby for their preferred candidates into making sure the needs and concerns of the entertainment sector are addressed and we are certain the lot of the sector will improve substantially.
