Bradley Barley: Celebs should choose values over quick cash
Ghanaian artist Bradley Barley is advising young creatives to think twice about the endorsement deals they take, saying the lure of quick cash is making them sacrifice their values and long-term brand identity.
He thinks the pressure to stay relevant is pushing emerging acts to jump at any offer, but this can lead to short-term gains and long-term pain.
“Quick money isn't everything. I choose partners that fit my values and long-term vision. Not every deal is worth it if it compromises what I stand for," Bradley Barley told Graphic Showbiz on Monday, November 17.
Barley said she carefully checks out brands before teaming up with them. "I look at their mission, values, and impact. I want to work with companies that share my vision and do good for society. It's about building a legacy, not just making money," he said.
Bradley Barley's been getting a lot of attention lately, not just for his rising star power, but also for rumours he's a playboy.
Addressing the rumours, he said, “I’m not a playboy, I’m ready to settle down, entertainers find it hard to keep relationships, so I prefer to keep this down. It’s difficult finding love while being in the spotlight, so this is what I have found, I want to keep it on the low.”
Born in London and raised between the UK and Ghana, Barley studied Business Management in China, where he launched his music career with singles like My Thing and Rewind, and performed internationally.
He's also made waves in fashion, founding Behave apparel and partnering with big brands like Coca-Cola, Puma, and Chevalier Premium Brandy - a partnership he called a "natural fit".
“They’re all about sophistication, elegance, and living life to the fullest. That’s what I’m all about. I’ll be bringing my creativity, passion, and energy to the table. Expect some interesting campaigns and collaborations,” he stated.
Barley also gives back through his Behave Charity. For him, it's not just about growing his brand, but building a genuine career that matters.
“Choose brand deals that align with your values and prioritise long-term impact over quick gains. Your brand is your biggest asset. When you take your time and choose right, the right opportunities will chase you,” he added.
