The beneficiary schools—La Anglican 1 Junior High School, La Anglican 2 Junior High School, and Anglican AME A Primary School—received essential educational items and financial aid.
Spice, who rose from humble beginnings in Old Britain, Jamaica, shared her inspiring story with the students, emphasising the transformative power of education. “Education opened doors for me that I never imagined possible. It's crucial that we invest in these young minds and provide them with the tools they need to succeed,” she said.
The donations included school uniforms and shoes for underprivileged students, whiteboards and other classroom materials, hygiene supplies, and nutritional snacks. Additionally, a cash donation was made to further support the schools.
Sarah Matey, Headmistress of La Anglican Basic School, expressed her gratitude for the donation, highlighting the challenges faced by many students. “Many of our students face significant economic challenges that impact their ability to fully participate in their education. These uniforms and shoes will make a tremendous difference in their daily lives and academic journey,” she said.
Miss Deborah Opoku Sarfo, Projects Officer for MYO Global Foundation, described the importance of the initiative. “When children have access to proper educational resources, they're better positioned to focus on their studies and achieve their full potential. We're honoured to partner with Spice on this important initiative that aligns perfectly with our mission of empowering communities through education,” she noted.
