Gospel music is Dr Buwumia’s favourite music -Aide reveals

Though he is a known muslim by faith, the spokesperson for Dr Mahamadu Bawumia, has revealed that gospel music is the favourite music genre of the respected economist.

According to Dr Gideon Boako who was praising his boss as God fearing in a recent interview with Peace FM and reported by Ghanaweb, he has always admired Dr Bawumiah’s personae in both private and within political circles.

 “I’ve mentioned it before that Dr Bawumia’s favourite music is gospel music which he sings all the time,” he is quoted to have said.

Over the years, Dr Bawumia has been preaching religious tolerance and that has been a key point of his campaign for the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearership in the lead up to the special delegates’ congress on Saturday, August 26.

Dr Bawumia is part of the 10 candidates of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) vying to be the party’s flagbearer in next year’s general elections.

The others are Mr. Joe Ghartey, a former Minister for Railways and current Member of Parliament for Essikado-Ketan, Mr. Kennedy Agyapong, Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Mr. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, a former General Secretary of the NPP, Mr. Kwadwo Poku, an Energy Expert and Mr. Alan Kyerematen, a former Trade and Industry Minister.

Additionally, the lineup comprises Mr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, a former Food and Agriculture Minister, Mr. Boakye Agyarko, a former Energy Minister, Mr. Edward Addai-Nimo, a former MP for Asante Mampong, and Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, an Economist.

The NPP will hold a special delegates congress on August 26, 2023, to reduce the number of candidates from 10 to 5 before a national delegates congress election on November 4, 2023.
