Let’s encourage domestic tourism —Founder of Tourwithlex
FOUNDER of Tourwithlex, Alexander Ojibah also known as Lexi is calling for the promotion of domestic tourism to encourage citizens to contribute to the growth of tourism industry.

According to Lexi, his love for local tourism sparked the passion to start a tourism tour company and his experience in the last few months has shown the overwhelming its potentials.
In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Lexi, who is presently studying Information Technology at Methodist University Ghana said it was two-faced for stakeholders to attract tourists from around the world when indigenes haven’t explored what they owned.
“In the last few years, there has been an intentional campaign to increase tourists in Africa and Ghana has not been left out of the agenda. Interestingly, local tourism is not given much attention which in my view, is not the best.
“It’s very important for the local people to explore and experience tourism but how are we getting them involved and grow their interest in the new global tourism drive without letting them understand the value through promotion including education,” he stated.
Lexi said his passion to see the growth of domestic tourism encouraged him to establish Tourwithlexi.
“The love for touring started as a personal hobby four years ago, visiting sites like Boti falls, Kakum National park, CapeCoast Castle among others.
“I started posting photos and videos from these sites on my social media platforms and that was when people started contacting me to take them to the various tourist sites I shared. The demand got so huge that I had no option but to start a tour company and it has been very encouraging,” he said.

He told Graphic Showbiz that even though Tourwithlexi is primarily committed to driving local tourism, the company has served the needs of clients from around the world including Nigeria, USA, UK among others in the last few months of its establishment.
“My goal is to replicate Tourwithlexi in other African countries including Togo, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Tanzania and Zambia and showcase the beauty of Africa to the world through its tourist sites,” he stated.
