Wannabe actors descend on Roverman
The audition was in three parts. There was a singing part during which candidates were required to sing; a dance part to determine movement to rythm and an acting part to judge speech, character role play and stage presence. Before the audition, applicants were given scripted monologues to study and deliver at the audition.
According to two candidates Showbiz spoke with, they were eager to be part of Roverman Productions because they believed that was how they could realise their dreams of becoming actors. Anita Kuukua Bassaw, a sudent of KNUST said, the opening speech by Uncle Ebo Whyte was quite motivational and it boosted her morale and the aerobics session gingered and poised her for action. In all it was fun, she said.
Susan , a student of GIMPA also said that, unlike the other auditions she had attended, the approach by Roverman was professional and every applicant was given a fair chance. There wasn’t any favouritism.
Between shuffling from one audition stage to another, Ebo Whyte told Showbiz that although they had held auditions regularly in the past, this was the biggest yet. “We are developing and we are looking forward to being able to double-cast effectively so that we can put up performances simultanoeusly at different venues”
