Wutah Kobby: I will succeed on my own
AFTER going their separate ways formore than five years, Wutah Kobby, one half of the Wutah duo anticpated better days for the group when they were reunited two years ago.
This, he was sure will come to pass when the group hit the ground running after their comeback with hit songs Bronya and AK 47 which earned them Best Group at the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
But that was probably an illusion as what turned out to be rumours initially came to pass early this year with the duo of Wutah Kobby and Afriyie confirming their split again.
Since the breakup, their survival have been questioned yet again particularly when both artistes didn’t make great strides with their solo careers in the past but Wutah Kobby says he is very positive he will succeed.
Speaking with the Graphic Showbiz about his new release, If I Get, Kobby said he has put the past behind him and had no fears things will go well for him again.
“The truth is that, I can survive on my own because I have done it before so there’s no point entertaining thoughts of me not making it as a solo artiste.
“Afriyie and I went separate ways for more than five years and I survived at that time. I’m even convinced things will be much better this time around because all the songs I have released have placed prominently on music charts. If I Get, my latest work that I’m promoting is number five on 4Syte Music Charts in just a month of its release so things are really good for me now,” he stated.
In the latest song, If I Get, produced by DDT, Kobby encourages people to find joy and fulfillment in everything they do since they hold the key to their happiness.
As a poor man who didn’t have the resources to take good care of his partner, he assures her that he will take her on vacation to various tourist destinations around the world of her choice when things get better but they still have to find happiness in their current situation.
The Highlife piece is probably one of the best that may have come from Kobby because his vocals and delivery is worth every listener’s attention.
“It is interesting how everyone is talking about my voice in this song because I have always been a good singer so this is not new to me. Perhaps, Ghanaians are now taking notice of my abilities,” he said.
If I Get is the second song from Wutah Kobby this year after Naa Me which features Tinny.
