Decency is a hallmark in the Ghanaian society as far as our culture and tradition is concerned. However, the spread of western values have modified what we stand for as well as what we believe in. Our way of dressing has changed drastically from good to worse.

Most Ghanaian ladies have blindly copied the dressing style of foreigners and flaunt the streets wearing provocative dresses all in the name of fashion.
‘’Akatasia’’ is a Twi word which refers to a lady who is properly dressed without exposing her nakedness. Such as breast, buttocks, hips, private parts etc.
But the question is, do most ladies in our world today cover or hide these parts of their bodies? You already know the answer. Those who do not follow this mode of dressing are normally labelled as ‘outmoded’
Of late, social media is flooded with naked and nude pictures of women which are very disturbing. Your body is your pride and as such, it shouldn’t be displayed as a free ride.
I am not against the idea of looking fashionable because it actually makes one look good. Day-in- day -out new styles of clothing are trending on the market leading to a competition among ladies for a particular design all because everyone wants to be the first wearing it.
My problem here is that most ladies mistake indecent dressing for fashion. Their way of dressing reveal vital parts of their bodies which is supposed to be covered up? This is very familiar among our celebrities. I can’t really tell if exposing their nakedness is a way they can shoot to fame easily.
People are normally judged wrongly by the way they dress which is in conformity to what the sages of old say, “You are what you wear”. Your way of dressing reflects your personality and trait.

You are always wrongly judged when you dress indecently.
You do not gain respect but disrespect when you expose your nakedness.
Showing some vital parts of your body can arouse the libido in men which sometimes lead to rape.
You will end up inviting wrong suitors into your life and after sleeping with you, they will exit the door.
It is imperative to carefully select what you wear because it creates an impression about you and therefore can make or unmake you.
