He said prosperous nations did not just emerge but achieved their development level through careful planning, hard work and commitment to what was right.

“We in leadership must, therefore, commit ourselves to the will of God and the people, and shun lies and tribalism so that we will be a blessing to our generation,” he stated.

Apostle Mankralo made the call when he and two other executive members of the Apostolic Church, Ghana were inducted into office in Accra last Saturday.

The others are Apostle C. K. Nartey, the new Vice-President, and Apostle A. K. Ofosu, the new General Secretary.  The new executive members are to serve a four-year term.

Put behind past ills

Apostle Mankralo said the operations of the new administration of the Apostolic Church, Ghana would be guided strictly by discipline, transparency, honesty and urgency.

He, therefore, solicited the support and cooperation of the members of the church during the tenure of the new administration.

On behalf of the new executive, he pledged to work with selflessness, integrity, objectivity and accountability to propel the church to greater heights and development.

“I will use my God-given authority rightfully and fearlessly; it is my prayer that we forget the past mistakes and look forward to a new positive development. Let us continue to lift up the banner as we prepare to enter the next phase of our development and we should forge ahead more purposefully, more visionary, more determined. We must also reconcile so that we can live in a church and society with goodwill towards one another,” he said.

Church vision

Apostle Mankralo said as the church celebrated its 80th anniversary, it should not be beset with troubles but “the church should see a great revival and transformation”.

He prayed that the years ahead would bring a lot of blessings, saying,  “I am confident that with God on our side, all will be well with us.”

The new president said he was optimistic that the church’s four-year strategic plan, Vision 2019, would give it a new direction and plan.

“The current administration will focus on the church and its ministry in the areas of preaching and teaching, prayer and intercession, fellowship and caring, worship and praise, leadership and government,” he said.

Service

The President of the Apostolic Church, Nigeria, Apostle Gabriel Ola Olutola, said the leadership of the church must serve with integrity and transparency.

“Church leadership will say they intend to serve but before they start they will be stealing; we are chosen to serve as men of God. And if you are to serve, you must not lord over the inheritance of God; we must not aim at walking on the red carpet since this is contrary to what Jesus Christ preached and practised,” he stated.
