Alhaji Muniru Ali Mohamed is Volta Regional Chief Imam

The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Usman Nuhu Sharubutu, last Saturday endorsed a statistician, Alhaji Muniru Ali Mohamed, as the Volta Regional Chief Imam, at a ceremony in Ho.

This comes six years after the Sarki Zango, Ho, Sarki Yashawu Bashiru Turawah, installed Alhaji Muniru Ali Mohamed as the Regional Chief Imam.

Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu entreated the Regional Chief Imam to commit himself to the service of humanity and work together diligently with the entire populace and traditional authorities for the progress of the region.

In his maiden speech, Alhaji Muniru Ali Mohamed pledged to equip the youth with skills, prioritise quality education in the Zango community with special attention to girls and promote peace and moral discipline at all times.

The 52-year-old father of three said sanitation matters would also rank high in his agenda.

“This is because cleanliness in next to Godliness,” he added.

Dufia

The Dufia of Ho-Ahoe, Togbe Kasa III, who spoke on behalf of the Asogli chiefs, urged the zango community to accord Alhaji Muniru Ali Mohamed the respect as Regional Chief Imam and work with him in harmony for the progress of the community, Asogli, and the Volta Region.

“By this endorsement by the National Chief Imam, we have only one Chief Imam in the Volta Region,” he said.

Togbe Kasa warned that any individual or group whose unruly conduct smeared the image of the Regional Chief Imam would incur the wrath of the traditional authorities of Asogli.

The Dufia gave an assurance that the chiefs of Asogli would support him to discharge his duties diligently for the sake of peace and progress in Asogli.
