NPRA climaxes customer service week with health walk

The National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA) climaxed its 2025 Customer Service Week with a health walk on the theme, “Empowered to serve with excellence every step of the way.”

The event, which took place last Saturday, underscored the authority’s commitment to fostering good health, teamwork and exceptional service delivery.

The health walk, led by Akature Ania, Director of Human Resources and Administration, commenced at Commonwealth Hills, Legon, and concluded at the Legon Sports Stadium.

Participants, primarily NPRA staff, displayed enthusiasm and unity as they embarked on the walk, which was both a fitness initiative and a symbolic gesture of the authority’s dedication to serving with vitality and purpose.

After the fitness walk, they converged on the University of Ghana Stadium for other sports activites, aimed at fostering camaraderie and teamwork, as well as reinforcing the spirit of unity and dedication that the NPRA seeks to instill in its operations.

Service excellence

Customer Service Week is celebrated annually during the first full week in October. This year’s event took place from  October 6 to 10 and was on the global theme: “Mission Possible – Making the Impossible Possible.”

In a speech delivered on behalf of NPRA’s Chief Executive Officer, Christopher Boadi Mensah, by the Director of Planning, Research and Evaluation, Philemon Lamar, the authority emphasised the integral link between health and service excellence.

“A healthy workforce is a productive one, and a sound mind and body enable us to give our best in protecting the rights and benefits of contributors and retirees,”  Mr Mensah noted.

The NPRA CEO called for renewed commitment to transparency, accountability and service excellence to build trust in the country’s pension system.

He also acknowledged the pivotal role of service providers, including Trustees, Pension Fund Managers and Pension Fund Custodians, in ensuring the pension system’s efficiency.

Mr Mensah called for collaboration to empower contributors with knowledge, address complaints promptly, ensure timely benefit payments and expand pension coverage, particularly in the informal sector.

He further stressed that this year’s Customer Service Week celebration reflects the NPRA’s holistic approach to service delivery, combining health, teamwork and a steadfast commitment to excellence in every step of its operations.
