Ghanaian companies urged to think outside Ghana

The Chief Executive Officer of Dexterity Consultancy Company, Mr Daniel Addae Adjepong, says it is time Ghanaian companies began to think outside Ghana, since Ghanaian industries have the potential to compete worldwide.

Mr Adjepong said this on the sidelines of a capacity building programme organised by the Tema Chapter of the Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with Dexterity Consult, a development consultancy firm.

Mr Adjepong took industrialists who attended the workshop through new ways of doing business and reducing waste, as well as being competitive. He said there was the need for organisational leaders to think ahead of time since that was the surest way to become relevant in the business world. He added that it was unfortunate that Ghana could not boast a single organisation that could be used as a benchmark to showcase to the world.

The Tema Regional Chairman of the Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr Isaac Barry, said Ghanaian industries were becoming uncompetitive within the sub-region as a result of government paying lip-services to the private sector, which it claimed to be the engine of growth.

He added that until stringent measures were put in place to address the problems affecting industries, the unemployment rate would continue to be high.
