Ghana Hotels Association named best tourism trade association at 2025 national awards

The Ghana Hotels Association (GHA) was named the Best Tourism Trade Association at the 2025 Ghana National Tourism Awards, held on November 14, 2025, at the Grand Arena in Accra.

Victor Minta, General Manager of Coconut Grove Beach Resort and spokesperson for Groupe Nduom’s hospitality division, said the award reflected the Association’s steady leadership in the sector. Mr Minta said the recognition followed years of advocacy and clear direction.

He commended GHA President Dr Edward Ackah-Nyameke Jnr, noting that his leadership had raised the Association’s visibility and influence within Ghana’s hospitality industry.

Mr Minta said there were still several issues that required further attention. He mentioned calls for compulsory membership of the Association, changes to the tax regime, and regulatory adjustments to support job creation and improve conditions for hotel operators.

He urged the Association to build on the award by deepening its engagement with members at the national, regional, and zonal levels, and by strengthening relationships that support the interests of operators across the country.

Mr Minta also acknowledged the work of executives and leaders within the Association and encouraged members to see the award as a push for continued progress.

“This is your victory; now let us work even harder for greater accomplishments ahead,” he said.
