The injured are receiving treatment at the Central regional hospital while the deceased has been deposited at the morgue.

The accident happened when a salon car entering the road from Third Ridge failed to observe traffic from the main road and hit a University Pentecostal Fellowship bus coming from Yamoransa and a Sprinter bus travelling from Takoradi towards Yamoransa.

The regional manager of the National Road Safety Commission (NRSC), Mr Stephen Anokye said the intersection was accident prone and required a re-engineering.

He said the Sprinter bus fell on one of the passengers and was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

Mr Anokye said the Ghana Highway Authority, the Department of Urban Roads and the NRSC had already discussed the necessity of speed humps along the junction to reduce the number of accidents there.
