Orphanage appeals for support to save street children, orphans, widows
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Save the Hopeless Centre, an orphanage, Evangelist John Boakye, has appealed to the general public to support the centre to enable it to reach out to the needy in society.
He made the appeal in an interview with the Daily Graphic, at Atwima Darko in the Ashanti Region and was of the view that there were a number of orphanages and centres taking care of the needy but they were not enough to cater for children who needed such care.

He said as an evangelist, he was always touched to make donations to support orphans, widows and even drug addicts who needed care.
Evangelist Boakye recalled that he was sometimes joined by his sister, Lydia Boakye, also an evangelist, to make donations to the Cherubs Orphanage at Apire, near Santasi to support the needy.
He said he recently decided to build his own orphanage to help in evangelism and improve upon what many orphanages or needy centres had been doing over the years.
Building Project
Evangelist Boakye said he had already begun a building project which would contain a place of worship, guest rooms and places for vocational training.
He said currently, he had a number of abandoned children and drunkards who were homeless but his uncompleted building was not a suitable place of abode for them.
He shared his past experience, recalling that his father in 1983 broke up marriage with his mother and he had since gone through challenges and said rescuing the destitute, afflicted and the dying could not wait any longer.

He commended the Apagyahene of Kumasi, Baafuor Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, and others for their support and appealed to the general public to also assist the centre.
