In a Facebook post on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, the police clarified that the individuals at the training school were part of a special operation, not a recruitment exercise.

The operation, conducted in Kumasi, led to the arrest of 487 suspects in connection with the QNET Ponzi scheme on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.

Due to the large number of suspects, the Kumasi Police Training School was used as a venue to screen them as part of the investigation process.

The police further explained that during the screening, some members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) arrived at the school, claiming they had heard of a secret recruitment exercise taking place.

"Upon realizing the claim was false and there was no such recruitment going on, they dispersed," the post added.

The Ghana Police Service has urged the public to disregard the claims of a secret recruitment exercise and to treat them with the contempt they deserve.
