“Irrespective of their political and religious affiliations, the rich and well-to-do will be contributing to peaceful co-existence if  they support the poor and weak in society,’’ the Ameer and Missionary in charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission in Ghana, Alhaji Mohammed Bin Salih, said this when he paid a courtesy call on the Director General of the Ghana Prisons Service, Madam Matilda Baffour-Awuah, at the Prisons Headquarters in Accra.

He pledged to continue with the patriotic and morally sound tradition of his predecessor, the late Maulvi Wahab Adam, who made it a practice to visit the vulnerable in the communities.

He promised to solidify the already existing cordial relations between the mission and the Ghana Prisons Service.

Alhaji Bin Salih said the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission appreciated the sympathetic gesture of the director general during the demise of his predecessor.

He assured Ghanaians that he would not be selective but continue with the gesture of reaching out to the poor and vulnerable in society.

He pledged to emulate the good works of his predecessor by reaching out to the people and establishing cordial relations across the broad spectrum of society, comprising Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

Alhaji Bin Salih, as part  of the courtesy call, presented three books titled: ‘World crisis and the Pathway to Peace; ‘Philosophy of the Teachings of Islam;’ and a Holy Qu’ran with English translation to the Prisons Service on behalf of the Ahmadiyya Jamat in Ghana.

Madam Baffour-Awuah congratulated Maulvi Bin Salih on his confirmation as the new Ameer.

She expressed her willingness to strengthen the existing cordial relations between the service and the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission for their mutual benefit.
