Republic of Vanuatu extends condolences on the passing of former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings

The Government and People of the Republic of Vanuatu, through the Vanuatu Trade Commission in Ghana, have expressed their profound sorrow and heartfelt condolences to the Government and People of the Republic of Ghana, as well as to the bereaved family of the late former First Lady, Her Excellency Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings.

In a statement issued on Friday, October 24, the Trade Commission described H E Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings as “an iconic figure whose leadership, courage, and unwavering advocacy for women’s empowerment transformed the social and political landscape of Ghana and inspired countless individuals across Africa.”

The statement further noted that her steadfast dedication to justice, equity, and national progress remains “a beacon of inspiration to all who cherish the ideals of service and leadership.”

The Trade Commissioner of the Republic of Vanuatu to Ghana, H E Ambassador Prof. Hugh Keku Aryee, also recalled with “deep respect and affection” his personal encounters and cordial relationship with the late former First Lady.

"She was a woman of great vision and fortitude—gracious in character, profound in thought, and steadfast in her commitment to advancing the dignity and potential of women." 

He said their shared interactions reflected mutual admiration and respect, grounded in a common aspiration for Africa’s socio-economic transformation.

"The Republic of Vanuatu stands in solidarity with the people of Ghana during this solemn moment of national mourning."

"We celebrate the remarkable legacy of Her Excellency Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings—a woman whose life embodied resilience, purpose, and patriotism."

"May her soul rest in perfect peace, and may her family and loved ones find comfort and strength in the enduring light of her exemplary life and service to humanity," the statement concluded.
