"I hear we are currently buying school uniforms from China. That will not happen under the Buy Ghana First policy," Dr. Bawumia stated.
"We will also ensure that furniture for schools is not imported from other countries. Whatever we can buy from Ghana, we will purchase locally to help boost our local industry, support the private sector, and create more jobs for our people."
For nearly an hour, Dr. Bawumia elaborated on his vision and policies to an audience that included clergy, imams, traditional rulers, traders, and community members.
Among the policies he discussed were his flagship new tax regime, which includes granting tax amnesty to businesses and introducing a flat tax rate. He also outlined plans to strengthen the Gold for Oil policy, introduce solar energy to reduce power costs, deploy electric buses for public transport to lower transportation costs, establish a new mining regime to empower small-scale miners and ensure responsible mining, and train one million youth in ICT for digital jobs both locally and abroad.
Dr. Bawumia also highlighted the policies he championed as Vice President, which he said are having a significant impact on the country.
He urged the constituents and Ghanaians to vote for him as President, emphasizing his proven commitment and ability during his tenure as Vice President.
