Elders of Lante Dzan We console Jake’s family
The elders of Lante Dzan We, the paternal clan of the late former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, have visited his house at Cantonments in Accra to console his immediate family.

The delegation, led by the Acting Head of the Lante Dzan We, Nii Lamptey Otanka, described Jake as an active member of the family who had always contributed to customary activities and that his death was a great loss to their clan.
Other members of the delegation were Nii Kojo Ashong, Nii Lantei Jahara, Nii Lante Ofankor, Nii Ayite Kane, Kaneshie Mantse, Nii Lankai and Nii Lankai, Head of Agbaa We.
Before their departure to the Jake's residence, the elders poured libation and prayed for the safe arrival of his body.
They were received by Nii Otswdja I, brother; Mrs Naa Ayele Ankrah, sister; Mrs Charis Zwennes, Mrs Rachelle 0-L Senghor, children of the late Obetsbi Lamptey.
Nii Otswdja said the body of Jake would be flown home soon for burial according to his wishes. He said the family were yet to meet on the funeral arrangements.
The former National Chairman of the NPP died in London. There was social media speculations in December 2015 that Mr Lamptey had died while he was alive receiving treatment in South Africa.
Obetsebi-Lamptey served as Minister of Tourism and Diaspora Relations in ex-President John Agyekum Kufuor’s cabinet.
