Dan Botwe declares support for his successor
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Okere, Daniel Kwaku Botwe, has expressed confidence in the capability of the Okere District Chief Executive, Daniel Nana Addo-Kenneth, to address the needs of the constituency if he is elected as MP for the area on December 7, 2024.

“His humility, hard work and service over the years undoubtedly place him in the position to take over from me as the MP and I am confident in his capacity to represent the good people of Okere,” he stated.
Speaking at a function at Akuapem-Adukrom last Saturday, Mr Botwe, declared his unflinching support for the DCE and appealed to all in the constituency to rally behind him to become the next MP.
He said Mr Addo-Kenneth’s hard work, from being the Okere Constituency NPPs secretary to becoming the DCE was evidence and enough proof that he had experience and was ready to represent Okere in Parliament.

Mr Botwe, a former general secretary of the NPP and Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Decentralisation, is not contesting the seat after serving four terms as the Okere MP for Okere.
The Okere DCE started his political career as a polling station executive and became the constituency secretary for nine continuous years until the Okere district was carved out from Akropong when he was appointed as the DCE.
Mr Addo-Kenneth won the party’s primary to replace Mr Botwe as the NPP parliamentary candidate for Okere and had always maintained that he would stand on the legacies of Mr Botwe, a colossus of Ghana’s politics to retain the seat for the NPP.
“When a huge tree is uprooted, you replace it with an equally strong tree so that the void is not felt,’ adding that having worked closely with him all these years, he was the best to replace him,” he said.

Transformative agenda
For the past five years since the creation of the district, Mr Addo-Kenneth has been at the helm of the transformative agenda of the NPP and the vision of the MP in building the needed infrastructure and systems for the development of the area.
Together with the MP, the candidate had endeared himself to the people of Okere with massive development in the education and health sectors, as well as improvement in the living standards of the people.
The DCE was hopeful that the NPP, through the able leadership of Mr Botwe, had dealt with the people of Okere well and come December 7, he would be declared as the MP to continue with the good works.
