Educate electorate on NDC policies — Prof. Opoku-Agyemang

The running mate of the flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2024 elections, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has urged party executive to reach out to the communities to educate the electorate on the sound policies the NDC plans to implement to alleviate the hardships currently facing them.

She said although the NDC was on course for total victory in the forthcoming December polls, the victory could be attained when party executives and officials moved down to the branches, wards and constituencies to educate members and the people.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang gave the advice when she presented 25 motorbikes and other items to the Central Regional executive of the party for onward distribution to all the 23 constituencies in the region.

24-hour economy

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang explained that the 24-hour economy and the establishment of the first Women’s Development Bank for Ghanaian women were highlights of the NDC to resuscitate the collapsed economy of the nation.

Aside from providing employment to the youth, she said, it would also reset the country on the path of equitable and inclusive development.

She explained that the women’s bank would be a specialised institution to be run by women for the purpose of  empowering and uplifting traders and entrepreneurs who daily looked for capital support to enhance and boost their businesses.

Sacrifices

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang stated that the task to relieve Ghanaians of the economic and social mess required the sacrifices of all patriots, most especially “those of you who have put yourselves in the frontline for carrying out the rescue mission.”

The acting Central Regional Chairman of the NDC, Ekow Okyere Panyin Edumoah , on behalf of the regional executive, expressed appreciation to Prof. Opoku-Agyemang for her continuous support and care for the party.

He pledged that the motorbikes would be put to good use.

He assured the NDC’s running mate that the executive would leave no stone unturned in ensuring massive victory for the NDC in the Central Region where she hailed from in the December 2024 elections.
