
Morcher confirmed as Aowin MCE
Assembly Members of the Aowin Municipal Assembly last Thursday confirmed the President's nominee, Stephen Morcher, as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).
The nominee had 100 per cent yes votes, with all 35 votes cast, made up of 24 elected members and 11 government appointees, approving his nomination in an election conducted at the Aowin Municipal Assembly hall.
In his acceptance speech, Mr Morcher expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support he received from the party executives, assembly members, the Clergy, and traditional leaders.
He expressed his readiness to serve the people of the Aowin municipality and promised to run an open-door policy and all-inclusive governance to foster rapid development in the area.
Mr Morcher also extended his appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama, the Western North Regional Minister, the Western North Regional Chairman of the NDC and the
Member of Parliament (MP) for the area for the honour done him.
He pledged to work together in a spirit of unity and mutual respect to ensure the resetting agenda was achieved in the area.
The Western North Regional Minister, Wilbert Petty Brentum, in an interview with the media, praised the assembly members for their unwavering enthusiasm to give the Aowin municipality 100 per cent endorsement with touch approval.
He was optimistic that with unity and togetherness, the Aowin municipality was poised for more development.
