PPP begins regional conferences

The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) has opened nominations for the election of regional executive members at regional conferences across the country.

The Central Region will have its conference on September 27, 2014; Eastern Region on October 4, 2014; Upper East on October 11, 2014; Brong Ahafo Region on October 18, 2014 the Volta Region on October 25, 2014.

A statement from the National Secretary of the PPP, Mr Kofi Asamoah-Siaw, said the other regional conferences would be held in November 2014.

The approved filing fees are as follows: The regional chairmen will pay GH¢500.00, Vice chairpersons, GH¢400.00, Regional secretaries, GH¢400.00, regional treasurers, GH¢400.00 and other officers will pay GH¢200.00.

Per a decision of the National Committee, all female aspirants will be required to pay 50 per cent of the approved filing fees.

Nomination forms are available at all regional secretariats of the party for interested members.

The party will also hold its National Convention to elect national officers on Saturday, December 13, 2014, at Tema in the Greater Accra Region. Modalities for the national elections will be announced in due course.

All paid-up card-bearing members are entitled to vote in all elections of the party.
