Hearts go gay

Accra Hearts of Oak fans yesterday went wild with jubiliation into the night as they handed visiting New Edubiase a 1-0 defeat at the Accra Sports Stadium to open their Premier League campaign this season.

But the Phobians had to rely on striker Sam Yeboah's late goal to burst the bubble of a stubborn  Edubiase side to carry the day before a huge crowd.

GFA sanctions Ashgold

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has sanctioned the assistant coach of Ashanti Gold Sporting Club, Yakubu Mambo, and the club for their unsportmanlike conduct that brought this year’s Super Cup into disrepute.

The two  breached  some sections of article 35 of the GFA’s General Regulations when they boycotted the award ceremony after the match played  on January 31.

A charge sheet signed by the GFA prosecutor, Raphael Tottimeh, and made available to the Daily Graphic, said assistant coach Mambo was  charged with inciting, encouraging and directing the players and technical team of the club against  the directive of the Match Commissioner in charge of the Super Cup to go for their medals from the dignatries.
