Ainooson hopeful of Stars call-up

Premier League Defender of the Year, Abeiku Ainooson, says he is not disappointed that he has been consistently sidelined by Black Stars coach,  Kwasi Appiah.

The 23-year-old stopper contends that his youthful age gives him an advantage over other players to wait for the best opportunity.

In an interview with the Graphic Sports after he added the First Capital Plus Best Defender of the Year award to his collection, Ainooson stated, “I am not disappointed that I missed out on Coach Kwasi Appiah’s squad for next month’s AFCON qualifiers because as a young player I know I have a long time to prove myself worthy of a call-up in the near future.

“My job is football and anytime I step onto the pitch my goal is to show my ability and soon I will be rewarded with a call-up to the Black Stars proper”, he added.

Ainooson, who also won the Best Defender and Best Player awards at this year’s FA Cup Awards  disclosed that, he had received a lot of offers  from European clubs but would only consider a deal that would be acceptable to his club.

“I have received a lot of offers from European and African clubs but I will never abandon Kotoko unless the deal satisfies both parties.

“Kotoko love me and want the best for me, so I will serve them for another year,” he stressed.
