Ghana’s Black Princesses and their technical handlers have departed Accra for Warsaw, Poland, for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
The squad left Ghana on Sunday, August 16, ahead of the tournament, which is scheduled to take place from September 5 to 27, 2026.
Ghana secured qualification to the global showpiece following a strong campaign in the qualifying series, earning the opportunity to compete among the world’s best U-20 women’s teams.
The Black Princesses have been in camp since July 5, undergoing intensive preparations under the guidance of Coach Charles Sampson.
The team concluded their preparations at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram last Friday before departing for Poland.
Ghana will begin its World Cup campaign against Ecuador on September 6, before facing South Korea on September 9 and France on September 12 in the group C.
The 2026 tournament will feature 24 teams from all six FIFA confederations, with hosts Poland making their debut at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
The competition will be the 12th edition, with Korea DPR entering the tournament as the reigning champions.
