She was among the hotel’s staff from all the branches— Accra, Obuasi and Elmina—with a minimum of five years working service with the establishment who were entered in the draw which was held last Friday.

Ms Quansah, who has worked with the hotel for 18 years, would travel to Rio to watch the World Cup.

The General Manager of the Coconut Grove Hotels, Mr Ralph Ayitey, said the idea to sponsor a worker to Brazil was to serve as motivation for the  staff and described the raffle as “ the first in the history of the hospitality industry in the country.”

According to Mr Ayitey, the trip would expose Ms Quansah to the work culture of the hospitality sector in Brazil.

Present at the event was the Board chairperson of the Coconut Grove Hotels,  Mrs Yvonne Nduom.
