Accra Hearts of Oak were knocked out of the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup after losing 4-3 on penalties to Division One League side Golden Kick on Sunday, February 23.
The match, held at the University of Ghana Stadium, ended 0-0 after regulation time, leading to the penalty shootout.
Hearts' Kwabena Boateng had a chance to give his side the lead in the 15th minute after being set up by Michael Ampadu, but his shot narrowly missed the post. Eleven minutes later, Boateng was again in a promising position, but his attempt was comfortably saved by the Golden Kick goalkeeper.
Hearts' task became more difficult in the second half when Theophilus Collins was sent off for a foul on an opposition player, earning a second yellow card.

Golden Kick came close to sealing the win in the final minutes of regular time, but Hearts' goalkeeper Benjamin Asare made a crucial save to keep his side in the game.
With the match ending 0-0, the outcome was decided by penalties. Asamoah Boateng and Samuel Amofa both missed their spot kicks, while Golden Kick converted four of theirs, securing their place in the next round and eliminating the Phobians.
