Heritage Securities U-20 Football Championship underway
An initiative to unearth soccer talents for national and international football clubs has begun at the St Thomas Aquinas Senior High School Park at Cantonments in Accra.
The three-day competition involving over 180 players from eight different football teams are involved in a competition dubbed ‘The Heritage Securities U-20 Football Championship’.
The teams are Liberty Professionals Under-20, Still Believe FC, Accra Youth FC, Augsburg FC, Spartans FC, Unique FC, Medeama U-20 and Sporting Life FC.

Internationally acclaimed scouts, Guisseppe Manari from FC Lugano in Switzerland and Julian Ferling, a Soccertime Africa partner for Europe and the United Arab Emirates( UAE) will be leading a strong team of scouts during the three-day competition expected to climax on Thursday.
Edem Kofi Ansah, Managing Partner of Soccertime Africa (STA) organisers of the event told the Graphic Online that the aim of the project is to feed the premiership and the division one league with the best products and to aid the best players to realise their dreams of playing in European Leagues.
Mr Ansah noted that it was about time members of the football fraternity embraced the idea of scouting for talents which according to him is the reason for the success of European teams in international competitions.
Organisers of the competition - STA are an integrated football management firm with a focus on identifying, harnessing and placing talented young players in football leagues globally.
Former Black Stars player Ahmed Apimah Barusso was present to aid with the talent search.
