Hockey: NDK clash with Sapholda today

After five weeks of thrilling hockey action, the uniBank Master’s Tournament comes to an end today with Real Ambassadors facing off  with Tema Manhea in the final of the juniors event, while NDK Financiers clash with Sapholda for the seniors’ crown.

The final match is scheduled for 2.00 pm, with Real Ambassadors who are on a five-game winning spree, as favourites to win the trophy on account of their recent performances as well as the 4-2 score-line they handed Tema Manhea during the competition.

In the third-place game of the Juniors event, Legonites face La Juniors while the fifth-placed game pits Ark Boys against bottom-club, Tema Youth.

The seniors final which starts at 5.30 p.m., sees NDK Financiers, who currently lie atop the standings with seven points from a possible 15, taking on second-placed Sapholda in a repeat of the week four fixture which ended 3-1 in favour of Sapholda.

In the third-placed game, Citizens International and Multistix will play in a repeat of their third week fixture which ended 3-1 in favour of Sapholda.

uniBank, sponsors of the tournament, will hand out awards to the winners and outstanding players at a ceremony later this evening.
