Medeama seek Confed Cup turn-around
Ghana’s representatives in this year’s CAF Confederation Cup, Medeama SC, are in dire search for a lifeline to sustain their campaign as they face Tanzania side, Young Africans, at the Benjamin Nkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam tomorrow.
The Tarkwa-based side have been walking tight- rope after picking just a point in two games but their head coach, Prince Owusu, is confident that they would bounce back to vie for the ultimate.
Of course, he admits a hearculean task confronts them despite the abysmal output of the Tanzanians, who are without a point in two games in a Group under the dominance of the dreaded T.P Mazembe and MO Bejaia.
Coach Owusu has , therefore, urged Ghanaians to remain calm as he has mapped up a strategy to steer the club out of the dangerous waters, and expressed optimism about the chances of the Ghanaian side.
With the odds against them compounded by a bid by Mazembe to snatch their most precious talents, Malik Akowuah and Abass Mohammed, Medeama appear uncompromising in their conviction to ride on.
The team will also be privileged to have the services of Richard Mpong, Kwesi Donsu, Benjamin Bature, Kwame Boahene and Mismark Oppong ,who are all expected to lead the assault on Young Africans.
