‘Number 10 shirt no burden on me’
Local Black Stars midfielder, Abraham Asiedu Attobrah, says wearing the number 10 jersey has not affected his nerves in the ongoing Africa Nations Championship in South Africa.
He has, therefore, dismissed suggestions that the Number 10 jersey had put some burden on him, thereby affecting his performance.
The New Edubiase United playmaker has struggled to command a regular place in the local Black Stars team at the tournament.
He has so far made only one appearance as a substitute in last Tuesday’s clash with Ethiopia after failing to secure a place in the two group games against Congo Brazzaville and Ethiopia.
Attobrah had earlier failed to make a single appearance in the WAFU tournament staged in Ghana against a popular clamour for his selection into the team.
“The jersey number adds no extra pressure on me. On the contrary, that’s my favourite number my mum even endorsed for me,” Attobrah stated.
“I am fine with my performance and I pray I get more opportunities to help the team.
“I know people back home expect more from me and that encourages me to give my best in any situation I find myself”, he added.
