Preparations are in full swing at the prestigious Celebrity Golf Club in Sakumono, Accra, as it gears up to host the eagerly anticipated PGA Masters Championship.

This event marks the final leg of the Road to Damang golf series, following exhilarating competitions at the Royal Golf Club in Kumasi and Achimota Golf Club.

Scheduled to take place from Tuesday, November 7th to Friday, November 10th, 2023, the PGA Masters promises intense competition and serves as the last chance for golfers to qualify for the Damang tournament in the Western Region.

Building on the suspenseful showdown at Achimota, where Alfred Kwame Nuamey emerged as the unexpected victor, over seventy seasoned golfers, including top contenders, are set to vie for victory, engaging in a challenging 72-hole contest spanning four days.

From his base in the United Kingdom, Alhaji Ahmed Padori, the Operations Director of PGA Ghana, expressed great anticipation for a thrilling tournament finale. He emphasized that the golfers are acutely aware of what's at stake, with players on the precipice of the ranking not willing to cede their positions, and those outside the threshold striving to secure a coveted spot.

Padori highlighted the heightened significance of this tournament, drawing the attention of golfers, enthusiasts, and the public at large. He took the opportunity to extend gratitude to the dedicated executives, including the President, Vice President, and senior members, who have played pivotal roles in the success of the Road to Damang journey since January 2023.

He further acknowledged the collective efforts of golf stakeholders, including the media, golf clubs, co-sponsors, and the title sponsor, Goldfields, in ensuring the seamless progression of this event.

In a somber note, the PGA joined the nation and the global golfing community in mourning the passing of Mr. Samuel Kwabena Appiah, fondly known as "Man Day for Water Never Fear Cold." A true luminary of the game, Appiah's innovative contributions left an indelible mark on professional golf in the country. The PGA paid tribute to their former member and extended heartfelt condolences to his bereaved family.
