St Louis SHS dominate female category in Ashanti Region HD+ Kids Armwrestling Season II
St Louis Senior High School showcased their dominance in the female category of the Ashanti Regional qualifier of the HD+ Kids Armwrestling Season II. The event, held at the school, saw St Louis securing five out of the nine available female slots.
In the female heavyweight category, St Louis swept the top positions, with all three winners hailing from the school. National Champion Mariam Yussif emerged victorious, followed by Africa gold medalist Mary-Ann Abagale, while Amy Ama Engison secured the third spot, securing their places in the national championship slated for later this year.

In the middleweight girls' division, Matilda Abu-Bonsrah from Kumasi Anglican Senior High School claimed first place, with Jessica Amafo from St Louis SHS finishing second and Benedicta Arhin from Kumasi Anglican securing the third position.
Felicia Akaba from KNUST Senior High School triumphed in the girls' lightweight category, defeating Margaret Ylekawonaa from St Louis, who finished second. Amanda Owusu Kumi from T. I Ahmadiyya Senior High School clinched the third position.
Shifting the focus to the boys' competitions, Musah Haziz from Sakafia Senior High School emerged as the champion in the lightweight category. Isaac Quansah and Aduko Adombila, both from Weweso M/A, secured the second and third positions, respectively.
In the boys' middleweight category, Stephen Donkor from Kumasi Anglican claimed third place, while Issahak Abdul Rahman from Fomena AMASS finished second, closely followed by Bernard Anewabah from Sakafia SHS.
Oliver Adam, an Africa medalist who was discovered in season one, successfully defended his title in the boys' heavyweight category after a fierce arm battle with Masawudu Mohammed from T. I Ahmadiyya. Jonas Akanpoopa from Kumasi Anglican secured the third spot.
The St. Louis Assembly Hall was packed with thousands of students and members of the public who enjoyed the thrilling HD+ Kids Armwrestling Experience. The event was described as a 'sportainment' extravaganza, combining sports and entertainment. A special appearance by the Kumericans led by Dr. Likee, also known as Akabenezer, added to the excitement.

The HD+ Kids Armwrestling Season II will conclude with its final stop in the Western Region on Saturday, August 19, followed by the highly anticipated finals in September. The event is sponsored by SES HD+ Ghana Limited and powered by the Ghana Armwrestling Federation, with support from GNTV Junior, Joy Prime, ETV Ghana, Woezor TV, and 442 Media Production.
